I finished these two this weekend. Some of you might remember the tadpole piece I was working on before. The newer version is a little more dynamic.
The autumn painting was actually going to be another black and white image (since my portfolio is a little short on those) but as I looked at the sketch, it became apparent that it should be in color. The leaves were painted using a transparent watercolor. There are digital elements in the piece as well, but hopefully they're subtle.

Hey thanks Joe! and I heartily agree about fall... there's so many holidays approaching this time of year... brings back memories
I love the colors of fall! Unfortunately I have to travel to see them, or look at art. ;) Nice piece, And yes! It needs to be in color.

Hi Gail! ha ha... thanks! :)
This perspective really draws you into the top illustration. I loved your old sketch, too, especially the girl's knees, but this one is so dynamic and in your face! Love it!
The bottom one has a great perspective too. And yes, the color was necessary. Our trees are probably almost at their peak around here. I love the colors of fall!
I'm glad you like it Kristi! Thanks!
I love fall too... our trees are just starting to change... and no more cutting grass! aaahhh!
Wow! The new tadpole picture certainly iS more dynamic! I love the composition :)
Hi Anthony, came across your site through other illustrator's blogs, and I am so glad that I did! Your work really draws you in and makes you want to know more about the characters. I have really enjoyed the tadpole piece.
Also I wanted to share a gift that was given to me to you. Your work is so inspiring that it deserves to be shared even more to others. Let's hope this does that. :)
