Sketches 9/9/08

Some of you may remember this bunny. To my surprise, he's still around. Usually animals as friendly as this rabbit don't last long in the wild, but he comes out of the azalea bushes every so often to munch on sand pears. He must have a lucky rabbit foot or something.

Anyway, I'm making progress on my website, and things look like they'll be in order for the October SCBWI conference... keeping fingers crossed.

Thanks for the birthday wish! - I think your sketches look great. I wonder where you live that pears grow in the sand?

Thanks Jess!!

You're welcome Kelly... and thanks! ha,ha.. Sand Pears grow on the beach, of coarse! well I'm near the beach and have sand pears, but I don't think that's why they're called that

in any case, the rabbit likes 'em

Your website turned out very nice - I love that illo for your opening page! Perfect first impression. You mention the October SCBWI conference. I'm guessing you're going to the Southern Breeze one? Laurant Linn will be there, right? I met him last year at the Midsouth conference and he was fabulous! He's amazing at articulating what works and doesn't work for trade picture books.

Thanks Kristi! it is the Southern Breeze conference and Laurant Linn will be there. I'm really excited about it. I registered early and got in on almost all of his talks. This will be a great learning experience for me.. I can't wait
