Head Study

Is time moving faster or is it just me? It seems like every aspect of life is picking up speed.

The sketch above is one of several studies for an illustration I plan to use for promotional material. I'm really happy with the direction so far and will share the final illustration later along with the prelim sketches.

Thank you Phyllis! I'm having trouble hiding my excitement about this piece... elements show a strong reflection of my own childhood and I can't wait to share it

Very cute girl. I always love the way you draw people, Anthony.

So, are you able to share your big picture book news yet? :)

Thanks Kristi!

and I'm sorry.. when I had mentioned picture book news, I meant the ABC children's book contest.. false billing in a way.. I hope this isn't causing too much confusion for anyone reading the blog... please forgive me :)

Hey Anthony, no problem! I'm expecting you to get a picture book contract any day now because your art is so amazing. I look forward to hearing that news when it comes.

Hi Amy! thanks! she's by the river looking into the water.. I won't say what she sees just yet :)

if I can just find time to work on it other than the weekend and at night... I think things are going to return to normal soon

Its not just you. I just spent some time with my 14 year old son packing all his toys up. what a sad time that was for me. so many memories of army man battles and playing cars and lord of the rings. how can he be grown up already? we ended up building lego forts for a few hours, but i couldnt help but wonder if that would be our last time ever.
great work by the way. you capture kids faces like no body else.
any news on the publishing front? any work in the works? :)

I hear ya Joe. I think that's why we get to become grandparents... hopefully our youthfulness never dies.. and thanks for the compliment

No news on the publishing front... I haven't made an attempt to get my stuff out there yet... the scbwi conference is this fall and I'll treat that as a starting point... I'm in a rush right now to get everything ready

it can be a bit overwhelming but I'm having fun

time IS going faster. It's not just you...where did summer go?

South Alabama summers seem especially long (guess it's the heat) but now the kids are back in school... where DID summer go? I haven't had enough time at the beach!
