A Fine Day For Grilling

Here are some characters I've been having fun with for the past few months. This is the first color version of them. I'm not exactly sure where they'll end up. Right now I'm writing a short story for my portfolio.

I've also been experimenting with textures. I had an art professor that loved texture in painting and I think he left an impression on me. This is a photo of concrete I overlaid in Photoshop to help add depth to the cutout feel of the characters.

Nice piece.
The characters are cute and I like how you depicted the meat. The touches of pink on them are sweet.

The only thing I'm not sure about is whats going on with the other arm of the dog.

Thank you everyone for the comments... I really appreciate it!!! :)

Thank you so much Amy!

and thank you Phyllis!

thanks C.G. I really can't wait for "Toast" to come out

and thanks Eric! hope all the traveling isn't wearing you out...

Hey Jennifer! Thanks for the compliment!

The Dog is supposed to have his arm stiff by his side... kind of rigid in his defiance... I ask a little bit anatomically of the animals when I draw them to add just a bit more expression

and hey... I loved the bunny with the lightning you posted... Really funny!

I love how the blue background really makes the color of the cat more vibrant.
